Global Panel Foundation Visits SATSA for Roundtable Discussion

On Tuesday, October 25th several representatives from the Global Panel Foundation visited Syracuse University and held a roundtable discussion with a select group of SATSA members.  The discussion focused on the topic of how to prioritize investments in security (financial and personnel) for an increasingly complex global environment where security issues have become intertwined with everything.  Participants in the roundtable discussion were able to share their opinions in regards to the question posed and share possible ways to address such security concerns moving into the future.

The Global Panel Foundation is a privately funded group of international decision makers who facilitate solutions to conflict solutions around the world.  Its distinguished members hail from government, academic, and private sector backgrounds.  Global Panel applies its professional expertise to various initiatives in the public and private sector through event management, networking, consulting, and sponsoring non-profit projects.  The Global Panel members who attended the roundtable discussion this past Tuesday are listed below:

Marc S. Ellenbogen: Chair-Worldwide, Global Panel Foundation; Member of the National Advisory Board, US Democratic Party (2004-2010), former Senior Advisor Gen. Wesley Clark Presidential Campaign; Visiting Fellow, Magdalen College, Oxford.

Jens Geitmann:  CEO Tristone Partners, Prague, London, New York; (Patron, Global Panel Foundation); and Vice President, The Prague Society–fought Communism and helped dissidents; Philanthropist (he is from Germany).

Hon. Barbara McDougall: Former Foreign Minister and Finance Minister of Canada; Chair, Global Panel America

Hon. Dov S. Zakheim: Former Under-Secretary of State and Comptroller of the Dept. of Defense; Co-Vice Chair, Global Panel America

The roundtable discussion proved to be a truly exceptional experience for those SATSA members who attended, and it was a privilege interact with such distinguished security sector practitioners at a personal level.  The Executive Board of SATSA would like to thank the members of the Global Panel in attendance for helping us make this event possible.
